The most recently produced 'good' movie I watched was 'The Outfit' (2022). That being said, if you're offered the choice of "renting" it or buying it, I'd recommend the former. I don't see myself rewatching it in the next decade or so.

You have almost certainly seen 'Black Panther' (2018) already...

If you don't mind subtitles: 'Shin Godzilla' (2016)! Amazing! 9.x/10. That being said, there's a chance that you are too young to truly appreciate it. Your enjoyment might depends on how much you know about actual politics.

Again... subtitles: 'The Spy Gone North' (2018) [Gongjak]. Very gripping. The only requirement for it is being vaguely aware of the differences between North Korea and South Korea.

Also with subtitles: 'Bad Genius' (2017) [Chalard Games Goeng]. Easily digestible, but sometimes the characters talk rather fast, so you might need to pause the movie every now and then to read along if you aren't a fast reader. So good it got its own series after the movie.

That's all the "recent" movies I have seen and would recommend.

Other than that you could dig through professional review sites such as theredrighthand.co.uk .

Or watch more anime! ;)

These sound like some interesting recommendations, I have been a little interested in Godzilla as of late so maybe I'll give that one a watch.

I didn't watch movies since 2019

The most interesting films I've watched at all recently are Joe Vs The Volcano, Groundhog Day, and Pom Poko.
None of them are new films, but they're all good. Groundhog Day in particular was excellent.

@MettaSeven Just for reference: I have seen 'a lot' of Godzilla movies, but still less than half of them. I would still classify 'Shin Godzilla' as 'a Godzilla movie' but from my perspective is very unlike other films of the franchise.
It focuses on the humans' reaction to an entirely new creature in a a real world setting. No "Super X II", no mechas, no telepathy, no ancient magic, no "prophecy", no aliens, no time travel, no other Kaiju, no children, no romance... I would say there's lots of heroism in this movie, but its 'the invisible kind' that most people wouldn't notice (and that some viewers might miss because they just don't think about it that way).

From the older ones I really liked 'Godzilla vs Biollante' (1989) and 'Godzilla vs. Mothra' (1992), but that is because something is wrong with me. ;) They are good representations of '"Classic" Godzilla movies(TM)' though.
The very first one from 1954 is good as well (no wonder this became a franchise), but it feels very dated when watched in 20XX...

Most Godzilla movies have no continuity between them, so it's okay to skip to whatever looks interesting to you. The movies also can feel quite different if they are from different "eras" which 'to me as a European' is an insanity I cannot in good conscience summarize: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Godzilla_(franchise)#History

The animated series 'Godzilla Singular Point' is... 'okay'. While it's very well animated and several plots made me happy, about an equal number of plots felt like wasted potential. I think it's mainly for Godzilla 'fans' - which I am not. If you have Netflix you should probably still have access to it if you want to check it out - but I can't really "recommend" it...

Most recent new movie I watched was the FNAF film back in October LOL. I did go see the theatrical rerelease of Star Wars ep. I though, and that was a fun time. There’s a curious amount of older films being put back in theaters at the moment…

well, i mostly watched the owl house cuz i heard it was pretty good as well as indie pilots/shows.
